Review of Orthobiologics and The Osteoarthrosis Treatment Gap
Malanga GAbstract: Patients with knee Osteoarthrosis (OA) receive multiple medical treatment options prior to undergoing total knee arthroplasty. It has been hypothesized that a treatment gap exists for patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthrosis who are unresponsive to conservative management yet are unsuitable or unwilling to undergo invasive surgical procedures. We review these medical and surgical techniques and discuss the role of orthobiologics for this subset of patients.
